 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday asserted that he is a Hindu and hence, does not celebrate Eid. However, he quipped that his government will continue working for a peaceful Eid celebration.
While replying to the address of the governor to the house, Yogi Adityanath said that he is not one of those people who wear ‘janeu’ inside House and don skull caps, if required, while coming out.
His response came in the wake of the reply he gave to a journalist a few days back when he was asked that after celebrating Diwali in Ayodhya and Holi in Vrindavan, where will he going to celebrate Eid?.
He also cautioned the Samajwadi Party and said that disruptive brand of politics ‘won’t be tolerated’. The UP CM also trashed the coming together of SP and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for UP Bye-elections and said that the two parties have now become ‘Bahujan Samajwadi Party’.
Reiterating his government s commitment to improving the law and order situation, he said there was no communal riot in the state. “Not only on the development side, but on the law and order front also, peace and harmony has made the state safe and secure.
He said he accused the Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav of not giving a single house to the poor whereas, his government has distributed 8.85 lakh houses to the poor in 11 months.
Speaking on the recently concluded Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura Assembly elections, Adityanath pointed out how the people have started accepting the policies and the performance of the BJP governments..
